Inspirational quotes on Education

“It is impossible for a man to learn what he thinks he already knows.”

“Have you ever been at sea in a dense fog, when it seemed as if a tangible white darkness shut you in and the great ship, tense and anxious, groped her way toward the shore with plummet and sounding-line, and you waited with beating heart for something to happen? I was like that ship before my education began, only
I was without compass or sounding line, and no way of knowing how near the harbor was. “Light! Give me light!” was the wordless cry of my soul, and the light of love shone on me in that very hour.”

“If the only tool you have is a hammer, you tend to see every problem as a nail.”

“You can teach a student a lesson for a day; but if you can teach him to learn by creating curiosity, he will continue the learning process as long as he lives.”

“Anyone who has never made a mistake has never tried anything new.”

“Aim for success, not perfection. Never give up your right to be wrong, because then you will lose the ability to learn new things and move forward with your life. Remember that fear always lurks behind perfectionism.”

“It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it.”

“A teacher affects eternity; he can never tell where his influence stops.”

“A man’s mind, stretched by new ideas, may never return to its original dimensions.”

“Much education today is monumentally ineffective. All too often we are giving young people cut flowers when we should be teaching them to grow their own plants.”

“No man who worships education has got the best out of education…. Without a gentle contempt for education no man’s education is complete.”

“Why should society feel responsible only for the education of children, and not for the education of all adults of every age?”

“Keep away from people who try to belittle your ambitions. Small people always do that, but the really great make you feel that you, too, can become great.”

Jacob said, “Sell me your birthright now.” Esau said, “I am about to die; of what use is a birthright to me?” Jacob said, “Swear to me now.” So he swore to him and sold his birthright to Jacob. Then Jacob gave Esau bread and lentil stew, and he ate and drank and rose and went his way. Thus Esau despised his birthright .”
